Kuwait airport is starting to close down because of COVID 19. Before, they closed down the airport. Kuwaiti Tourists were returning to Kuwait following the order of the Kuwaiti government. Medical tourists and elderly citizens were the main priority. Kuwaitis who are studying abroad are the last ones to arrive. This operation is considered the biggest evacuation that Kuwait had conducted. Everybody took the COVID 19 test at the airport and had to isolate themselves for two weeks. So people won’t spread the virus to their families, and now the airport is back in business, but some countries aren’t allowed to enter Kuwait because of the virus, and the country doesn’t want to go back to square 1.
I was tasked with video homework. The video is an interview of any person of my choice. But I have to do shooting methods that I had learned in my Multimedia class, Which are the five-shot, 10-second method. Lucky for me, I have little experience with doing a video, and I learned more in the class. I always knew that my Canon camera and Tripod would come in handy someday. The program that I used for editing is Imovie, which was good for beginners. It took me between 1 to 3 hours to edit the video. Also, I used Keynote to do the introduction of the video, and I even applied voice over in the beginning and at the end of the video. Even though it took me a few hours to make it, It wasn’t an easy job shooting it. I had to take several shots and choose the perfect one.
Authorities in Kuwait told the restaurants to close. So they needed to think of a plan to continue the business during the crisis. They came up with the idea of the food package so people can buy it and grill it in the house, and there was even frozen pizza every restaurant had a different idea. Which makes them unique, and it becomes competitive. For example, Yelo started to sell frozen pizza at the supermarkets. Which sells like quickly. Restaurants had started to bring food to your car, and they made a contract with V-Thru to know the estimated time to pick up the order and the restaurants who made contracts with v-thru had food trucks every weekend in different location near the chalets even talabat website had an amazing idea which is to deliver food in the middle of the sea!
Influencers usually come from middle-class families. In some cases, the influencers come from upper-class families to show off their wealth or increase it. But this is a story of an influencer who is also a street sweeper. His dream is to be famous. But life isn’t always sweet. So he had to work hard and leave school early afterward. Tik Tok app made his dream come true. In the video, we can see the A roll which is the interview itself and the B roll is when he is either setting up his equipment for a Tik Tok video or doing his job. The Five shots methods were used in the video. For example, in the beginning, there was the over shoulder shot, extreme close up, and close upon his face. Also, medium shot when he was speaking and there was a lot of the anything you want shot.
Perfumes are part of many people’s lives, whether it be a part of daily routine or strictly for special occasions. There is no doubt that perfumes today play a fundamental role in an individual’s identity and taste. Perfumes were always a part of Kuwaiti society. So we went to Mubkhar to pick a gift . My friend and I have chosen this place because it reminds us of our culture . But in a modern way, Kuwaitis always loved using bukhur, oud, and all kinds of perfumes. In general, this shop offered us a twist in which we can mix any kind of scent, such as Patchouli oud. Also, we even can print our names on the perfume, which would be a nice gift for thanking someone or for their birthdays. When we entered the shop, Bilal was there helping us. He showed us to different parts of the shop and where all the perfumes are made in the shop.Then, we had permission from the shop owner to take shots. We have chosen 7 shots. It took us about 2 and half hours for taking pictures and we edited the pictures using the lightroom program.
Mobile Photography is the name of an online course, Which I had taken recently. I wasn’t surprised that I am going to take a course in photography. But I am surprised that I am going to use my phone as a camera instead of a more professional camera such as Canon or Nikon. Since it is Mobile photography, I thought that I already know every trick in the book because I use my phone to take photos a lot. But that wasn’t the case. I learned that there are Main problems, programs, and how to send the final result that I should know about, which I didn’t know about.
There are four ain Problems that we will encounter when taking a photo. The first one is the element. The element is the thing we want to take a photo of like coffee or a cake. There are things we need to take into consideration when taking pictures of the element, such as which angle makes the element look better, which is the second problem. Another problem is the color of the element. The color of the elements could attract an audience. And the final problem is lighting. The lighting could make or break the magic of the element. We can use sunlight as our source of lighting. But it isn’t always available. As a substitute, we use a Softbox. Those four problems should be put into consideration when taking a photo.
The course had introduced me to programs that I could download in the app store, which could give me an advantage. Such as the Lightroom program, which has an ability called Long Exposure. Long Exposure is a feature of local editing. Other programs had been mentioned in the course, such as the over program, the lens distortion program, the Pro-Cam program, the Pro Cam by MomentThe programs are free. But they have some features which aren’t free.
After taking a photo and editing, the only thing missing is to publish the Images by using a proper program. Whatsapp isn’t a suitable program for sending a photo because it will lower the quality of the photo. Programs like Dropbox, Google Drive, and Airdrop Are proper programs to use for sharing not just photos but also other content such as videos.
The lockdown had started in mid-may. Ramadan doesn’t feel the same. Usually, Ramadan is the time of friends and family gatherings because of the corona. The closest thing to a family gathering is through a phone or video call. One of the reasons for the lockdown is to prevent people from visiting each during Eid al fitor. The coronavirus isn’t only changing our way of living but also our tradition. I hope that the virus ends and we go back to our normal life before the new year.
The curfew in Kuwait started in march, many people were panicking, all of the groceries in Kuwait were full, and many people were buying in large quantities. Because of the curfew, all of the groceries needed a website to deliver food to people in their homes during the curfew, and they did this to let people feel food secure, and they will have food even in the curfew.
Moreover, supermarkets had changed their ways of services. They are now appointment oriented services. People will have to go online and set up appointments. Also, they check your tempter and your appointment Qr code before entering. Moreover, you aren’t allowed to enter the supermarket if you aren’t wearing a mask and gloves.
In February, Corona came to Kuwait. Our studies got delayed by two weeks, then another two weeks were added. In the end, the Minister of Education decided to suspend the semester until August. As a result, the break has been longer than expected, and now with the break, they started thinking about e-learning. At first, the private university continued the spring semester online and finished. As I am writing this, the private university is starting summer online. Finally, the Minister of Education had permitted Kuwait university to begin online classes. So they will be starting e-learning in a Month.
My colleague and I had interviewed several people . However, we where interested in this particular story of bravery and brotherhood. At first , it was difficult to interview him because the man was unreachable. Fortunately we had manged to reach him. After a long conversation with him , he told us about this lovely story.
